What do we do?

Under the leadership of faculty, the Farm Manager, Production Manager, and interns, students are mentored and guided through hands-on agriculturally-related experiences in the field and greenhouses. The results are the production of over 10 tons of produce for campus dining, the UW Food Pantry, area food banks, and the community, a new awareness of the food system, knowledge of a farm as an agro-ecosystem, as a place for innovation, research, leadership skills, access to organic fresh vegetables and the potential for a healthier lifestyle.

The UW Farm strives to build and strengthen connections between our growing spaces and academics on campus. Our impact reaches beyond the campus, connecting and collaborating with an urban and peri-urban farm network. We support many educational opportunities including courses, labs, capstone, practicum, field work, internships, credit opportunities, field trips, and tours. We support indigenous growing initiatives on campus re-matriating space for a Native Garden and Wapato Pond and supporting the Camas Meadow maintenance. All three growing sites support hands-on learning via the Center for Community Engagement and Leadership Education.

Where does our produce go?

All our produce is grown following practices outlined according to the National Organic Program and Good Agricultural Practices food safety program. We strive to deliver the freshest produce while creating awareness of the food system for all those who volunteer as part of course work or simply to be a part of the campus farm community.

Our Weekly CSA

The UW Farm produces a weekly box of fresh, seasonal produce for community members. We offer a selection of CSA packages. View more information about our CSA program here.
