Sign up for the new Agroecology Reading Group – WINTER 2016!
Tuesdays, 4:30-5:20 at the UW Botany Greenhouse
Professor Jennifer Ruesink is leading a one-credit Agro-ecology Reading Group in Winter 2016. This will be a weekly seminar in which students/staff/faculty read and discuss articles covering various aspects of agroecology.
Agroecology represents the interaction of farming with the environment, in which “environment” can be variously defined in terms of how much of the human environment is included. The scope of “environment” covered by the readings will be modified according to participant interest. Articles will be drawn primarily from peer-reviewed academic literature but may also include book chapters, farming manuals, and extension services.
Agro–ecology seminar is on the winter time schedule as Bio 486, accessible via add codes with no pre-reqs. Although it says “senior seminar”, that is just a placeholder denoting that students must read and discuss at responsible academic level!
If you would like to register, please email Jennifer Ruesink <ruesink@uw.edu> for an add code.
