Internship Program 2019-2020

Our school works closely with students and community members on outreach and education. We have a limited number of internship positions available each quarter.

Fiddleheads is looking for past, current, or future educators and leaders who are comfortable being outside rain or shine and can model a positive attitude no matter the weather. We ask that interns keep an open mind and have a willingness to learn about child development, teaching techniques and the natural world, and are dedicated to working with kids in a volunteer capacity.

At Fiddleheads, we work with interns to tailor positions that support your interests or goals and create opportunities to take your experience further. We want to make sure that you get as much out of participating in our program as the children do! We have numerous resources we can share and are happy to make time answer questions and support your educational goals however we can. If you do decide to pursue an internship with us, it is important that you commit to regular attendance throughout the duration of the season.

Seasonal internship opportunities for 2019-2020:

Fall: September 16 – December 20 (FULL)

Winter: January 6 – March 27 (FULL)

Spring: March 30 – June 12

MWF, 8:45am-1:15pm

Tu/Th, 8:45am-1:15pm

M/W, 2-4pm

Professional Development with Fiddleheads

Are you a teacher or administrator interested in observing a class? Want to learn about teaching outdoors? Sign up for one of our Professional Visitor Days and spend the day with us.

The day includes a tour with the director, observation time in one of our two outdoor classrooms and a brown bag lunch debrief with our lead teachers.
