Our afternoon program is designed to support a child’s connection to the natural world through emergent and play-based learning opportunities in a uniquely dynamic environment. We will spend much of our time out traveling through the arboretum and taking advantage of everything this park has to offer, as we learn about the life cycles, habitats, and interrelationships of the many plants and animals that make their home here. Please note our afternoon program is designed to meet the needs of students ages 4-6. In order to enroll, we ask that your child be at least 4 and no older than 6 by September 1st, 2019. If your child turns 7 during the 2019-20 school year, they are not eligible to enroll.

2020-2021 registration for our afternoon enrichment class will open this spring. In the mean time sign up for our interest list to receive updates.

Afternoon Class Application (2019-2020)

Enrollment Requirements:

  • Our afternoon program is designed to meet the needs of students ages 4-6. In order to enroll, your child must be at least 4 and no older than 6 by September 1st, 2019. If your child turns 7 during the 2019-20 school year, they are not eligible to enroll.
  • Because of our unique environment, we require that children are potty-trained (no pull-up diapers) by the start of preschool. That being said, we recognize that children of differing abilities may toilet at different times in their development. We are committed to working with families of children with special needs who are not yet toileted in order to be as inclusive as possible.
  • Fiddleheads is an entirely outdoor program. You and your child must be prepared to (and want to!) be outside rain or shine. We do work closely with families on gear education and provide a gear library where families may request to borrow many items.
  • Fiddleheads does not keep multi-year wait lists. We ask that families submit a new application each year (unless already enrolled)

Enrollment Process:

2020-2021 registration information will be available in the spring.
